Dogs have an impressive range of hearing, with the ability to detect sounds between 67-45,000 Hz. In comparison, humans can only perceive sounds between 64-23,000 Hz.

The dog whistle serves as an excellent training tool for working with dogs at a distance. Rather than raising your voice to give a command, you can utilize a whistle pattern instead.

Wondering which frequency to use? It is essential to determine the tone that elicits a reaction from your dog. Wait until your pup is asleep and then test each tone. The correct frequency will awaken them.

Training: The first step is teaching your dog the meaning behind the whistle sound.

 <li>Begin by using the whistle to mark positive behavior, such as a "good job" signal. Tap the whistle and reward with a treat. Repeat this process to establish a positive association.</li>
 <li>Next, utilize the Dogo dog training app to teach obedience commands like sit or lay down. Once your dog has mastered the command, assign a specific whistle pattern to represent it.</li>
 <li>Example: Play a pattern of two short taps on the whistle, say "sit," and then reward your dog for following the command. Initially, always combine the whistle pattern with the verbal cue. After several days of practicing with around 20 repetitions per day, play the pattern and reward your dog when they sit with a jackpot reward. Repeat this process for different commands like down or come, using distinct sound patterns for each command. Take note of these patterns for future reference.</li>
</ol>

Warning: Use the dog whistle sparingly and only in conjunction with a reward. Pay close attention to your pet's reaction; if they show signs of discomfort such as tensing up, running away, or tucking the tail, consider abandoning this training method altogether.
